JSON Minifier
I cut the fat. The muscle stays.
Paste JSON. I cut whitespace, not corners.
Ctrl+Enter minifies · numbers stay as written
Silence is golden. Whitespace is optional.
Paste JSON and get it on one line, whitespace gone. Strings, numbers and escapes stay exactly as written, and you see how many bytes went.
How it works
- Paste JSON or drop a file.
- Press Ctrl/Cmd+Enter.
- Copy the one-liner or download .min.json; the status bar shows bytes before and after.
What gets removed
Spaces, tabs and line breaks between tokens. Nothing inside strings. Numbers, escapes and key order stay byte for byte.
FAQ
What does minify remove?
Only whitespace between tokens: spaces, tabs and line breaks outside strings. Strings, numbers and escape sequences stay byte for byte.
Does it check the JSON too?
Yes. Invalid input isn’t minified: you get the error with its line and column instead.
Should I minify if my server already uses gzip?
For HTTP responses, gzip or brotli does most of the work. Minifying still helps where compression doesn’t run: storage, logs, environment variables, fixtures in code.
Is there a size limit?
1 MiB per document (1,048,576 bytes). Larger input is rejected in your browser before it is sent.
